It not only tells that it’s ok to feel all kinds of feelings, but also says what you can do to handle them well. It is powerful, not just in what it imparts, but also in how.

Sonia Mehta’s The Always Happy Book series published by Wonder House Books is creating a lot of buzz in our kbc community.
In this book, the author has beautifully explained the different moods that a child often experiences. Sometimes they are very happy, sometimes they are angry, sometimes they are too excited and sometimes they are scared! These all are perfectly normal and we as parents need to understand that like us these little ones have their share of good and bad days but they can not always express them like us. That is where this book comes handy.
I’m glad that books have helped him to identify and name his feelings and more importantly, he knows how he can manage them.
Our reading journey has always been supported by a melting pot of different kinds of books. But the stories that we have seen work the magic that only books can, are the ones where the underlying thread is about human emotions. Little children deal with such big big feelings, and we often get trapped in naming those feelings. What has worked for us, though, is not naming them, but seeing them imbibed in characters, and learning how to nurture or manage them through the story arc.
