A sweet suspense-thriller for 3 year olds!

We won the Rats Bigger than Cats book as a prize in the #kbcKeepCalmAndReadOn Campaign. The book was delivered during the lockdown so Kabeer had to wait for the book to undergo its ‘quarantine’ period. But, it was worth the wait!

The face-off

This is our first Karadi Tales book and certainly not the last. I know it is not a good idea to judge a book by its cover, but this is perhaps an exception. The text on the book cover glows in the dark! For a 3 year old it is magic.

Adrija Ghosh’s beautiful illustrations take you to the alleys of Calcutta to show how rats and cats live. Maegan Dobson Sippy, the author, has depicted rats to be bigger than the cats. Almost like a suspense thriller, the story builds up to an ultimate face-off between rats and cats. It turns out that rats and cats play with each other instead of fighting.

Kabeer loved listening to this story and loves to find rats and cats hiding on every page. I never thought a story about rats and cats could be so nice. I highly recommend this for your little ones!
