[I’m sharing this review written by my 11 year old son, Namit.]
This is a unique flipbook that shares 2 stories about the Taj Mahal which are different, yet connected.
Building the Taj with Attaullah
Attaullah is thrilled to be in the middle of the construction of what will be the world’s greatest building: the Taj Mahal. Attaullah’s abbu is a master architect, who will be designing this white marble beauty. So, Attaullah heads to the construction site. His father starts designing the grandiose building and the skilled workers begin their work. Over the years, marble is laid down, writing is inscribed, and the Taj Mahal slowly begins to be built. Over the years, Attaullah asks to help, but is told to wait for his time to come. What will be the important task Attaullah must complete? Something beautiful, surely? Find out!
Saving the Taj with Aradya:
Aradya is the luckiest girl ever! She is going somewhere. Somewhere great. Her dad is taking her to the Taj Mahal! He is a conservationist, hoping to preserve the building for the next generations. Aradya has read and seen pictures, learned all she could about this building. It’s supposed to be beautiful beyond words, and she is excited to see if the Taj Mahal is all it’s supposed to be. Will it be the great, majestic sight she hopes it will be? And will she help her papa restore this breathtaking structure?
This book is a great read for anyone who appreciates writing and illustrations. The words are woven to create a wonderful story. The illustrations, however, are a big highlight. Every detail is captured in these drawings and the colours bring them to life. In addition to being entertaining, this book will also help you learn about Indian history and culture.
