I told Adu to crush the hajmola while I cleaned the lemongrass and mint leaves. Adu being a fan of hulk got into the hulk smash mode and in no time finished crushing the hajmolas. Next we needed the white onion juice. Since our mom was at work, we had the best helper… our Dida (our grandmom). She quickly helped us crush the onion and we used a white cloth to take out the juice. Now that we had everything ready, we had to mix it. The trick was to mix everything together and give it a real good shake. Adu said… one, two, three goooooo!

One day I thought I needed some happiness. So I decided to make a potion which would make me happy…
We entered our herbal science lab, our terrace garden. We took a mug and plucked some leaves of tulsi, ajwain and pudina. We added some water and each of us took a turn to crush the leaves with a stone. Then, one of my friends said, “Arey, this is smelling fresh and nice, like the chutney my mother makes. The lizard will have a feast and not go away”.
My son turned around, innocently, and followed Miles, who hadn’t noticed the changed colour of the new shampoo mixture…
People called him Mado because he made crazy things, like a Fishing Rod – not just any regular one, but one that had three ropes attached to one rod. Why? Well, so it could catch three fishes at the same time. Smart right?
“Mumma, can you brew some ageing potion for me?”
This was something new…Not Cake/Pasta/Pizza/Milkshake?
“Where did you hear about it Abeer?”
“Oh Mumma, it’s a potion to grow up quickly, don’t you remember? Fred and George used it in the Goblet of Fire”
I remembered reading the book to him last week.
So, this little Potterhead was beating me in my own playground now!!
“And why do you want it?”
“You know, I want to do so many things when I grow up. I thought why not start early.”
