Title: Things I See On The Road
Author: Suvi Naidoo
Illustrator: Devashish Verma

Type: Board Book
Age group: 1 – 3 years
It’s been 3-4 months that Rushit is going crazy about vehicles- ALL KINDS! And due to long office hours, we are missing out on our evening walks. It used to be our favourite time of the day when we both would just get out on a stroll and spot all the varieties of vehicles that we would spot.
Well, when things don’t work out the way you wish, you need to mould your ways. And that’s what I did. I ordered many vehicle toys for my 2.5 year old, so that we could still have our “vehicle time” after I get back home. But how many toys could one get to satisfy the child? I would get one and he would demand the other and the cycle just went on. That is when i decided, i would get him few books on vehicles where i would cover up all the different vehicles that he was fond of and would also escape hoarding toys (I absolutely dread too much toys!).
And when I received this book, I was jumping in joy for him😀. This book had all the vehicles that Rushit loves talking about these days- Bicycles, cars, trucks, buses! It even has an ice cream cart in it, which he had never seen on the road before and you can imagine how excited he must have got to learn about a dedicated vehicle for his favourite dessert!!😀
About the book: This cute little board book has very limited text, which means that you can go ahead and spin a new story around the vehicles every time you open this book. Get your creative juices flowing!!!
Some of the many things that Rushit learnt from this book:
Vehicle names, vehicle sounds, colours (each page has it’s own colour in 2 different shades). The most fun part while reading this book is the way we compete each other to make funny vehicle sounds.
Game Starter: You can also talk about where your kid has recently spotted the said vehicle (we love playing this game every time I take this book out), great way of engaging a toddler into lateral thinking.
This book would be a great buy for early tots to help build their speech and vocabulary in a constructive way. It’s also great for senior tots like mine (he is 2.5 year) old to spin our own imaginative story around vehicles. Hence, a perfect buy for the age group: 1 to 3 years. Vroom… Vroommmmm…!!!!
