My 10 yr old daughter loved reading this book so much so that she finished reading it one go. I am posting this review on her behalf.
It’s a story about protagonists Jasmine and Sheba who are BFFs. Sheba’s father owns a clock shop and Jasmine referred Ismail uncle as Clockwala uncle, who was an expert in avoiding questions. Clockwala Uncle was a pro in making puzzles and girls loved solving them.
It’s time for summer vacations, ice-creams and fun! But what’s this? Sheba’s parents want her to go to a summer camp her school has organized as her father thinks she needs a lesson on time management. But Sheba and Jasmine have other plans, as they plan to find homes for all the stray puppies!
A wonderful idea strikes Jasmine and she along with Sheba asks for time management puzzle from Clockwala Uncle with Sheba. And if they don’t solve this in time, they will both have to go to summer camp!!
So, let’s put our detective hats and glasses and go on a mysterious and funny ride! Hurry up! Because the clock is ticking.
When I was reading this book, many questions popped in my mind such as – would BFFs – Jasmine and Sheba be able to solve the puzzles set up by Sheba’s father who is fondly called as The Clockwala Uncle by Jasmine?
I love reading books which have some sort of mystery/adventure and this book kept me hooked till the end.
My takeaways from this book –
- This book beautifully describes the bond best friends share, as in this book Jasmine and Sheba are ready to face consequences and stay together. That’s the beauty of friendship, isn’t it?
- The unconditional love both girls have for stray puppies, isn’t that just the need of hour? The core essence of this book lies in care for innocent animals and we all should pledge to contribute in our own simple ways like keeping bird feeders, water for birds in summers, not to pelt stones on stray animals to shoo them away or disposing off plastic responsibly so that plastic doesn’t find its way in their stomach.
- Last but not the least, time management. Though my parents also keep on educating me about the same, however I used to dodge this topic, but now I can listen to them more carefully in this and try to abide as well 🙂
